One of the first posts I wanted to make was one of prudence. Where are we headed as a society and what will our future look like? As architectural designers we are responsible for shaping our physical surroundings. Making it as comfortable, safe and healthy for all people connected with it, even Mother Earth.
This is why I’ve chosen The Venus Project as an introduction and an idea that needs to be addressed.
There have been many reasons why this project has taken shape. Too many to address in this post. To know more, look at
Zeitgeist The Movie.
Basically, we have achieved a level of social comfortability because of our technological advancements and now it’s time to plan for our next level of development. The current ideologies and political structures will not allow us to advance in a prudent manner. It’s impossible to move ahead because the Democratic and monetary systems as we know today have resulted in corruption and unethical behaviors. This is not what any of us had in mind when our leaders embraced globalization.
The sad fact is that 1% of the population is controlling 40% of the wealth in the world. The big corporations are dictating our directions and legislations and impeding our growth to a better world. Why is that? PROFIT!!!
This brings me back to the purpose of my responsibilities as an architectural designer. I’m here to make a difference through my conceptual visualizations and ideas. We are all playing a part in the direction of our future. Make sure it is one of prudence!
